Client: Killorglin Chamber Alliance
BEC Consultants is preparing an Invasive Species Management Plan (ISMP) for the newly-created town park in Killorglin, Co. Kerry. The work is being carried out on behalf of Killorglin Chamber Alliance with funding provided by The Heritage Council. The site contains several invasive species that are impacting habitats across the site, with the worst affected areas being the alluvial woodland, which is an Annex I habitat and covers the largest area. The project involved a walkover of the site and production of the ISMP, which outlined what removal/control options were manageable for the various invasive species, following best practices guidelines. An invasive species information walk was also carried out as part of National Heritage Week.
